How to Find the Correct Ring Size

Do not be afraid to order a ring online. Would you like to propose to your partner but are unsure which size to choose? Simply follow our guide. There are several ways to determine the correct ring size.

Measure a Ring You Already Have

Choose a ring worn on the same finger as the new one. You can measure either its internal diameter or circumference and compare the result with the sizes shown in the table.

  • Use callipers to measure the ring’s internal diameter in millimetres.
  • Place the ring on a sheet of paper and carefully trace around the inside with a sharp pencil. Then use a ruler to measure the internal diameter in millimetres.
  • Measuring the internal circumference is also straightforward. Insert a narrow strip of paper inside the ring and mark where the two ends meet. Lay the strip flat and measure it in millimetres to find the internal circumference.

Measure the Ring Several Times and Pay Attention to:

  • the temperature and time of day – ideally, take the measurement at room temperature;
  • any deformation of the ring;
  • the fact that a ring worn on the right hand may not fit the corresponding finger on the left hand.

Take the Ring to a Professional

A jeweller will provide the most accurate measurement. When you visit our jewellery studio, we will determine the correct size and help you choose a suitable ring. Alternatively, we can use 3D modelling to design one precisely according to your wishes.

If You Do Not Have a Ring, Measure the Circumference of the Finger

Wrap a strip of paper or a piece of string around the finger and mark the point where the ends overlap. Make sure it is not too tight, as the ring must also pass over the knuckle.

Try a Ring Sizer

A ring sizer is a set of plastic rings representing different sizes. It allows you to determine the correct size easily from the comfort of your home. Choose one that fits snugly but can still pass over the knuckle. Simply contact us and we will be happy to send you this practical measuring tool.

Planning a Surprise Proposal? Here Are Some Tips for Measuring Ring Size Discreetly

Are you looking forward to the perfect moment when your bride-to-be says yes? Do you want to avoid spoiling it with a ring that does not fit, but have no opportunity to measure one of her existing rings?

All you need is a little courage. These tips are not only for future grooms – they are equally useful when buying a ring as an anniversary, birthday or Christmas gift.

Measure Her Finger While She Is Asleep

If your partner never removes her ring, even at night, or does not wear one at all, try measuring her finger while she is asleep. Carefully measure its circumference using a piece of string or a ring sizer. Remember to allow a little extra room so that the ring can pass over the knuckle – and be careful not to wake her.

Ask Friends or Family for Help

This can be slightly risky, as they might give away the surprise, but it may be worth it. If you have no other way to determine the ring size, ask a friend, mother or sister for help. They may already know the correct size or be able to find it out discreetly.

Still Unsure?

Whichever method you use, these final tips may help:

  • Measure the ring or finger circumference several times.
  • If you are deciding between two sizes, choose the larger one. It is generally easier for a jeweller to make a ring smaller.
