Care and Cleaning
Regular cleaning is key to maintaining the shine and beauty of your jewellery. Different materials require different cleaning methods:
Gold and Silver
Mix lukewarm water with a few drops of mild soap or washing-up liquid and soak your jewellery for 5 to 10 minutes. Then gently clean it with a soft brush, paying particular attention to the underside and small crevices that the bristles can easily reach. Finally, rinse the jewellery with clean water and dry it with a soft cloth.
Gemstones
Some gemstones are highly sensitive to heat and chemicals. Pearls and opals, for example, must not come into contact with perfume or hairspray, as this could cause them to lose their lustre or change colour. When cleaning these stones, use only mild cleaning products and a soft cloth. Every gemstone may have specific care requirements, so always find out how to look after it properly. This will help prevent damage and preserve its beauty for years to come.
Costume Jewellery
Clean costume jewellery with a soft cloth and avoid water and chemicals, which could cause oxidation or damage the surface.

Proper Storage
Once you remove your jewellery, it is important to store it correctly. Here are a few storage tips:
Store Each Piece Separately in a Jewellery Box
Store jewellery separately to prevent pieces from becoming scratched or tangled. Soft pouches or jewellery boxes with separate compartments are ideal.
Keep Away from Direct Light and Moisture
Store jewellery in a dry place away from direct sunlight, which could cause fading or discolouration.
Protect from Chemicals
Jewellery should be kept away from household chemicals, perfumes and hairsprays.

When to Wear Your Jewellery and When to Remove It
Follow these simple guidelines to keep your jewellery in perfect condition:
Remove During Physical Activity
Remove jewellery when playing sport, carrying out strenuous work or doing household chores. It could become damaged or lost.
Contact with Water
Remove jewellery before bathing or swimming in a pool or the sea. Chlorine and salt can damage both the metal and gemstones.
Perfumes and Cosmetics
Apply perfumes, creams and hairsprays before putting on your jewellery to avoid damaging it.
